Welcome to the first ever Gamejam presented by DevDebate. Here you will find all the rules, guidelines and the scoring system which will decide the winner.
Progression and 2D will be the main focus for this gamejam. The main objective for everyone is to create a game in 2D that has some sort of progression system. This can be a character starting out at level 1 and progressing by doing whatever or a simlike game that lets you build your own city where you have to increase in size or keep upgrading your buildings. The important part of this progress is that it is saved somewhere so that when you close down the game and restart it, you continue playing where you left off.
Usable engines are:
Some inspiration for your game can always be found by looking at the Unity Asset Store. This is a great place to get free assets or purchase assets which can be used in your project. This is of course mainly for the way your game will look. The actual concept and the goal of your game are still up to you. For this you can always count on the game idea generator. This can give you a certain scene, goal and type of activity for you to build in your game.
Rules that the game must follow:
Permitted devices/platforms are basically all mainstream devices: PC, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch or Smartphone.
The game you create should not be prestented to the other participants untill the time for developing has ended. In the meantime you are allowed to ask for help or assist others with problems they are having or that you might have. Keep in mind that doing so should not show your or their game to the other. This is to keep it interesting to see what everyone has thought of withouth the influence of others.
Rating / scoring system Scoring / Rating of your game will happen by giving points to specific parts of the game. The parts with their maximum reachable score are listed below.
